Wesley Westerfield

Funeral services celebrating the life of Wesley Westerfield, 55, of Davenport will 1:00p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2019 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Westerfield passed away following a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

Wesley was born October 3, 1963 in Mississippi, a son of Oliver Gene and Dorothy Jean (Hannon) Westerfield.  He was united in marriage to Alma Coats on February 9, 2002 in Davenport.

He had worked as a janitor for Scott County.

He loved to watch westerns, going to the casino, and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved teasing his grandkids.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Alma; stepchildren Rose (James) Brooks, Lamont Richard, Jerry (Leah) Smith, Franklin (Kelly) Laster; twelve grandchildren; siblings Curtis (Suzette) Westerfield, Michael (Lee Ella) Westerfield, Nelson (Veronica) Westerfield, Dwight Westerfield, Geraldine (Charles) Gentry, all of Davenport,  Eva (Londa) Carr of Rock Island; stepsister Katherine McGraw, Mississippi; step brother Henry Jr, bonus daughter Elizabeth Ramirez, Davenport; and a host of loving extended family members and friends.

His parents, brothers James Westerfield and Ronald “RC” Jones, and step father Curlee Jones, preceded him in death.
