Wesley Floyd

Wesley R. Floyd, 89, a resident of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his home.  Per his wishes, the rite of cremation has been accorded.  There will be no services at this time.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Wesley Rex Floyd was born February 2, 1932 in Cedar County, Missouri, a son of Wesley R. and Florence (Kennedy) Floyd.  He served his country in both the US Army and US Air Force.  Wesley worked in the Medical Records Department at the VA Hospital in Iowa City for 20 years.

Wesley enjoyed spending time with his pets, working with his flower plants and shopping.  He went out every day on the bus to get his newspaper.  He loved to read murder mystery books.  He liked cooking and going out to eat.

Those left to honor Wesley’s memory include his siblings:  Billie Jo Johnson, Davenport and James (Millie) Bemrose, Iowa City; and niece:  Laura (John) Daringer, Davenport; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lloyd Abby; sister, Bonnie Menasco; and brother, Otis Bemrose.
