Velma Hudson

Velma Marie Hudson, 67, a resident of Davenport, died April 27, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport.

Velma was born November 15, 1952 in Augusta, Arkansas the daughter of Albert and Carrie Lee (Parrish) Coats.

Velma enjoyed watching soap operas, cooking, and listening to music. She enjoyed looking out the window, being nosy, and gossiping. Velma cherished her time spent with her family.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Rita (James) Grant, Volante (Michael Joyner) Hudson, and Roscoe Hudson, Jr., all of Davenport; 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; siblings, Leella (Michael) Westerfield, Alma Westerfield, Lavern (Hal) Brooks, Albert (Lori) Coats, and Bobby Coats.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Enetta Hudson-Carr; brothers, Edward Coats and Willie Taylor; a brother-in-law, Wesley Westerfield; and her significant other, Cleotha Avant, Jr.
