Mr. Dolan passed away July 17, 2020 at Unity Point-Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Stephen Michael Dolan was born July 16, 1950, in Clinton, IA, a son of John and Audrey (Adler) Dolan.  He was united in marriage to Julie Rockwood in 1974 and later to Janice Frick in 2009.

Stephen had been a welder for Local 25 and Alcoa and was a Certified Welding Inspector and Educator.  He greatly enjoyed passing on the skill of welding to others, and was instrumental in making critical welding decisions at the Davenport Alcoa plant. He was a member of the American Welding Society as well as Sacred Heart Cathedral.

He loved his children and grandchildren, traveling, and was a fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the New York Yankees.  He was thrilled to see the New York Yankees in New York City in 2004 - so thrilled he proposed to Janice while in New York.

Survivors include his wife Janice; children Stephanie Dolan, Joshua Dolan, both of Clinton, Kyle Dolan, Leander, TX; stepsons Gregory Cox, Carmel, IN, Avery Cox, Goose Lake, IA; grandchildren Peighton, Meredith, David, Daniel, Ruth, Zebediah, Asa, and Malakai; siblings Cindy (Paul) Schmidt, Lodi, WI, Michelle (Garry) Ketelsen, Lancaster, OH, William (Mary) Dolan, Timothy Dolan, all of Clinton, and James (Susan) Dolan, Morton Grove, IL.

His parents and brother John, and special dog “Ronin” preceded him in death.
