Sharon Whitley

Funeral services celebrating the life of Sharon Whitley, 69, of Davenport, will be at Noon on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Visitation will be from 11am until time of service at the funeral home.  Per her wish the rite of cremation will follow services.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Mrs. Whitley passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her home.

Sharon Kay Steele was born June 18, 1952 in Ottumwa, IA, a daughter of Ike and Lena Mae (Bryant) Steele.  She was united in marriage to Lynch “Lane” Whitley on June 12, 1997 in Davenport.

She was a graduate of Ottumwa High School.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed watching her collection of movies and television shows.  She also enjoyed cooking and baking and was regarded as the best cook in the family.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband Lane Whitley, Davenport; daughters Shawna Moore, Davenport, Shelly Moore, St. Paul, MN, Danyal (Shawn) Green, Milan, IL, stepdaughters Kiandra Benson, Davenport, and Kawanda Cox, Des Moines; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one on the way; siblings Martha, Henry, James, Mona, Tina, Geraldine, Harry, and Jackie.

She was preceded in death by her son Rateal Steele, sister Marlene, and her parents.
