Sally Christophersen

A Memorial Mass for Sally Christophersen, 65, a resident of Davenport, will be 11 AM Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 until 7 PM at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Memorials may be made to an education fund for her grandson, Joseph or to Friends of Vander Veer.

Sally died unexpectedly Thursday, October 14, 2021 at her home.

Sally Lee Ann Doermann was born July 3, 1956, a daughter of Lavern and Marilyn (Muchow) Doermann. She was united in marriage to Mark S. Christophersen on October 29, 1977 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oxford Junction. They later separated and he preceded her in death in 2011.

Sally worked for the Mississippi Bend AEA for 27 years while also working at Jumer‘s Castle Lodge for over 20 years.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish and a union steward for the Communication Workers of America.

Sally adored her family especially her children and her grandson, Joseph. She also cherished her fur babies. Sally loved the outdoors, daily taking 4–5-mile walks, usually around Vander Veer and she had a passion for live music. Sally enjoyed cooking and baking as well.

Survivors include her children: Amanda Christophersen, Davenport, Beth and Justin Epstein, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jacob Christophersen, Davenport; grandson Joseph Christophersen siblings: Mike (Lanelle) Doermann, Sabula, Iowa, and Tom (Cindy) Doermann, Tipton and  many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Mark. May they rest in peace
