Kayon Gamble

April 1, 1999 — February 24, 2020

This is the story of Kayon Sherod Gamble. Kayon’s story began on April 1, 1999, the third
oldest child to Sherron Gamble and Delmont Thomas, and the loving brother of many siblings.
Kayon was born in Chicago, IL. As a baby, Kayon moved to Davenport, IA where Kayon would spend
some of his childhood until moving to Ruston, LA. He then decided to take his talents to Los Angeles,
CA, where he grew up, made many lifelong friends, and graduated from Los Angeles High School in
June 2016.
Kayon touched the lives of so many; our beloved, the light of our lives, the star of our hearts, leaving us
smiling through our tears. He was joy personified. He was a wonderful man that was loved, is missed,
and will always be cherished. Our “K,” as he liked to be called by his family. Kayon was a loving and
compassionate person, who loved to be silly and make others laugh. He had the most beautiful smile
that would light up your soul. Kayon had an infectious energy that would cause you to remember him
for life, even if only having one encounter with him.
Kayon had a deep love for his family and cherished the time they would spend together playing
practical jokes on each other, playing cards, cooking, and enjoying family dinners together. He was the
life of the party; he was renowned for his singing, a passion of his. He would also dance to any song at
the drop of a beat and let’s not forget his fashionable style.
On Sunday, February 24th, 2020 Kayon was called to be with the Lord. They say nothing last forever
and until now,
I believed that. I now know that the memory of Kayon “K” Gamble will live forever. Kayon we
love you; we miss you and you will forever be in our hearts. Today, we trust in the Lord to take care
of Kayon, who meant so much to all of us, holding on to the many memories that were made, the
precious time spent, and the place Kayon has in our hearts.
Kayon is survived by his mother, Sherron Gamble, his father, Delmont Thomas Sr. his siblings,
Tramaine Wright, Jahsheia Gamble, Antuane Gamble, Delmont Thomas III, Delmont Thomas Jr.,
Kronterial Bond, Dia Monte Thomas, Malik Thomas, Destiny Thomas, Lyric Thomas, Saidayah
Kirk, Corey Sparlin, his grandparents, Debra Gamble, Calvin Marks, Betty Tink Thomas, Great
grandmother Patty Jo, Great grandmother Vercella Davis, his aunts Jovan and Joy Gamble, his uncles
David Gamble, Royal, Alfred and Elmer Wells, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kayon was
predeceased by his grandfather Elmer Wells Sr.
Peace I leave with you; my
Peace I give to you. Not as the
World give do I give to you.
Let not your hearts be troubled,
Neither let them be afraid.

KAYON
When I think of you so many things cross my mind at once. There’s so much to be said about you but I
don’t know where to begin. Maybe I’ll start with your eyes. From the first time I looked into your eyes
until the last time I looked into them, I saw an undying love between father and son.
You always held eye contact when we spoke and that meant a lot to me. it let me know that you meant
every word you spoke to me. Every time I saw you greeted me with a smile that made my day. No matter
my mood your smile always put me at ease.
You said you were proud of me, I motivated you to go hard with your music, but what you didn’t know
you were my motivation. The way you lived your life for you, not caring what anyone said or thought
about you- motivated me. Not only did you motivate me I also learned a lot from you. I’ll forever cherish
heart to heart conversations and the times we spent together.
I love you son and I did my best to make sure you knew that. I know you’re in a better place and although
it hurts that you’re not here I’m at peace knowing you knew my heart. Your soul, your personality,
and your aura were Timeless. You will live on forever!!!
Forever Timeless!!!
I love you Kayon
