Glen Edward Taylor, 66, a resident of Muscatine, Iowa and Long Beach, California, died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in Bettendorf.

There will be no public services held at this time.

Glen was born January 26, 1955 in Sherman, Texas, the son of Lewis and Leta Faye (Rigsby) Taylor. He married Lynda Cokeley.

Glen served his country in the United States Army for 19 years as a recruiting station commander. He later left the Army and became a manager of the officer’s club in Lompoc California. Glen worked the past 26 years for Timec as a safety supervisor. He was great at his job, loved going to work every day, and had many close work friends.

Glen had a big heart and never hesitated to help family and friends. He was a music buff who loved listening to and discussing music. Glen loved walking his dog, Sadie on the Long Beach coast. He loved spending time with his family. There was nothing he enjoyed more than a cup of coffee and conversation with good people.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Lynda; children, Matthew Taylor, Kelly Purcell, and Carolyn Taylor; grandchildren, Violet Purcell and Marley Taylor; brother, Don (Pam) Taylor; and close friends, Shelley McIntosh and Debra Daehn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
