Gary Lee

Gary A. Lee, 63, a resident of Rock Island, died Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Burial will be at Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Gary was born April 20, 1957 in Bellflower, California, the son of Monroe and Evelyn (Card) Lee. He married Barbara Masem, March 8, 2013.

Gary worked as a fabrication manager for CT Products, retiring recently. He was an avid camper, and member of Gamber Cove Campgrounds. Gary enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, spending time with family, and spending time with Barb and their three dogs, Buster, Casper, and Snickers. He was a NASCAR fan, a hard worker, and was always willing to help out anyone. His quick wit gave him great ammunition for comebacks and joking around.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Barbara; daughters, Amber (Nicholas) Shorten of Princeton, Iowa, Jamie (Ben) Bell of Davenport, and Kara Lee of Moline; grandchildren, Lizzie, Zayah, and Avery Shorten, Gracie Lee, Matthew Bell, and Lilly Lee; step-children, Kristina Cook of Moline, Carrie (Gary) Gardner of Muscatine, and Jason (Brea) Cook of Huntsville, Arkansas; step-grandchildren, Adriana Gilbert, Michael Puig, Jaden Kyle, and Jillian Kyle; siblings, Ron Lee, Penny Lee, and Carol Lobdell, all of Springfield, Missouri; and Gary’s biggest fan, his nephew, Chuckie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
