Chad Gilland

Funeral Services for Chad V. Gilland, 48, a resident of Davenport, will be 12 Noon Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport.  Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.  The family will greet friends from 10am until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.  Due to the pandemic, masks must be worn and social distancing maintained.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Chad passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at ManorCare Utica Ridge in Davenport.

Chad was born June 18, 1972 in Davenport, a son of Robert W. Gilland and Janit G. Harper-Waage.  Chad was a 1991 graduate of Davenport Central High School.  He enjoyed assembling Gundam models, participating in Civil War, World War II and Western re-enactments.  He also watched the old Kung Fu Theater and any movies with martial arts.

Those left to honor his memory include his siblings:  Todd (Karen) Gilland, Davenport and Melanie Simmons, Bettendorf; nieces and nephews:  Destiny, Eletha and Sara; and aunt, Judy Mellott, Fairfield, Iowa.  He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, David Waage; brother, Jeffrey Gilland and brother-in-law, DeWaun Simmons.
