Yvonne Shari Rudd

Yvonne Shari Rudd, 65, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 9. A celebration of life will be held at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home on April 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. 

Yvonne was born on October 27, 1960, in Davenport, Iowa, She was a proud graduate of Central High School in 1979, where she was a member of the track team. 

Throughout her life, she held a variety of jobs, but her true passion was caring for others. 

Affectionately known as “Shear Bear,” Yvonne had a deep love for music and lived an active lifestyle, often exercising from sunrise to sunset. Shari found joy at the casino, where she could unwind and take a break from the stresses of everyday life—it was truly her happy place. She was known for her kind heart and generous spirit. She had a special gift for connecting with children—many of whom she cared for and watched grow into adulthood—leaving a lasting impression. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

She is survived by her children, Jonathon Bassett, Kristie Rudd, Jacqueline Rudd, and Ondrae Rudd; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Robert (Kathy) Bostic, Teresa Bostic, Kirk Bostic, Tawniece Rudd, Donnie Rudd, and Dawnya (Dan) Forler. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Rudd and Jacqueline Bostic; her grandparents, Robert and Mamie Norville; her brother, Anthony Bostic; her grandson, Ondrae Liddell Rudd Jr.; the love of her life, Michael Sheets Sr; and her special friend, Carlton Williams.
