Wilveretta “Etta” Tracy, 70, of Davenport, passed away unexpectedly at MercyOne Genesis ER on Sunday, March 15, 2026. A graveside service will be held to honor Etta at the Rock Island National Cemetery on March 26, 2026. Family and friends are invited to gather for the procession to the cemetery at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport, no later than 10:30 am. A Celebration of life will directly follow the burial at Harley Corin’s, 1708 State St., Bettendorf, IA. Parking will be available across the street or in the public parking by K&K. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
Born on April 23, 1955, in Nebraska to Robert and Joann (Mormon) Kussman, Etta was known for bringing joy and warmth to her family. She was united in marriage to Michael Tracy on June 9, 1973, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2019, after 45 years of marriage. She cared for patients throughout the Quad Cities as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 30 years. She last worked at Sivyer Steel, alongside her husband Michael, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She was especially fond of her coworkers.
Etta enjoyed talking with her friends and family, constantly put her family first, and cared immensely for them. Every year, she looked forward to Christmas, decorating her entire house and going “all out”. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren the most. Etta was a spectacular grandmother and mother. She will be remembered for her light-hearted jokes and gentle humor.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Corey Tracy, Vickie (Mitchell) Proehl, Matthew (Carrie) Tracy; grandchildren, Justice (Levi) Price, Rickey (MacKenzie) Proehl, Ardalia Tracy, Americus Proehl, Ashtin Tracy, Zarin Tracy, Zaydin Tracy, Lexxie Tracy, Konrad Tracy; great-grandchildren, Maverick, Axsel, and Janie Price; sister, Terri Burkamper; and brother, Robert Kussman.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
