Obituary

William Joseph Kozlowski, 70, of Walcott, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 19, 2026.

William was born on April 5, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Vincent Kozlowski and Leora (Eid) Holland. After graduating from high school, Bill built a career defined by hard work and dedication. He spent 16 years as a valued employee at Alcoa before transitioning to G&R Integration in Walcott, where he worked faithfully as an account representative for 14 years.

Sixteen years ago, Bill experienced a profound faith conversion that beautifully reshaped the remainder of his life. As a devoted Christian, he loved the Lord and His people deeply. Bill studied the scriptures diligently, held the Word of God closely in his heart, and took great joy in teaching scripture to others. He was an active and vibrant member of the Adventure Christian Community, where he contributed to the men’s group and shared his passion with the younger generation by helping with the children's archery club.

To know Bill was to know a man who truly commanded a room. He possessed a big presence and an even bigger heart—he was a great man who simply couldn't be missed. Outside of his work and ministry, Bill was a passionate outdoorsman who found great joy in nature and looked forward to every camping trip. He was a talented handyman who took pride in doing his own home repairs. He was also an avid gardener, famous for keeping the best garden around, canning his harvests, and showcasing his talents as an amazing cook. He was always ready to share a delicious meal and his abundant bounty with his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his best friend and ex-wife, Marcy Kozlowski; his step-children, Ashley Tilton and Cory (Amanda) Vincent; and his beloved step-grandchildren, Thalia, Kaiya, Zaylee, Alexandria, and Addilynn. He also leaves behind his mother, Leora (Chuck) Holland; and his siblings, Patricia Kozlowski, Victor Kozlowski, Sherri Carel, Benjamin (Kelly) Kozlowski, Edie Puga, and Pamela Wright, along with many extended family members, church family, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Kozlowski; his cherished son, Nicholas Kozlowski; and his brother-in-law, Lathan Robert Carel.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, October 26, 2026, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport, Iowa. A memorial service celebrating his life will follow immediately at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Adventure Christian Community.
