William J. "Bill" Kenney

William J. Kenney, 92, passed away at Ridgecrest on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025

Private family services will be held at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport with burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Café on Vine. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

William was born in Delevan, Wisconsin, the son of Dr. Howard and Gertrude (Leirich) Kenney. He earned his bachelor’s from Notre Dame, his master’s from Purdue University, and finished up his PHD at SLU. He then went on to teach chemistry at St. Ambrose University and retired after many years as the Lab Supervisor at the City of Davenport Wastewater Treatment Plant.

He was a faithful servant of our Heavenly Father, loved his family, golf, playing bridge, reading and traveling.

William is survived by his loving wife Ellen, daughter Kathleen Kenney-Smith, son Steve (Jill) Kenney, grandchildren Liam and Kyla Kenney, and Kelyn Smith. He was proceeded in death by his parents, sister Pat, and brother Jim.

May he rest in peace with our Lord Jesus.
