William Patrick "Bill" Grogan III

William Patrick “Bill” Grogan III, 59, of Bettendorf, died unexpectedly in his sleep on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

A private family service will take place for Bill with burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Common Chord, 129 N. Main Street, Davenport (www.commonchordqc.org) Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bill was born on September 14, 1966 in Davenport, the youngest and only son born to Mary G. (O’Brien) and William P. Grogan II. He graduated from Assumption High School in 1985 and earned a degree from the University of Iowa in Political Science/English.

Bill worked for many years at Cheyenne Camping Center. Most recently he was employed at AVG in Bettendorf where he worked in their warehouse performing HMI, packing, and shipping duties.

Bill was proud of his Irish Heritage and was also proud to be an American as was evident with his constant chanting of “USA, USA, USA!!!” He was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. Bill had a great passion for music, enjoying playing guitar and listening to his favorite bands, KISS, Rolling Stones, and The Who. In his younger years, Bill ran local races, including the Bix.

Those left to honor his memory are his sisters: Mary T. (Steve) Yenger, Bettendorf, Beth (Richard) Bell, Eugene, Oregon, Kathleen (Patrick) Goodall, Margaret “Margy” Bush, and Patty Grogan, all of Davenport; nephews and niece: Ryland Bell, Portland, Oregon, Chris (Kailee) Bell, Eugene, Oregon, Trevor (Rachel) Goodall, Davenport, Duffy Goodall, Smyrna, Georgia and McKara (Zach) Thiede, Bettendorf; great-nieces and nephews: Greyson, Noah, Wren Goodall, Ellie Goodall, and Corbin and Harris Thiede; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Dave Bush. May they rest in eternal peace.
