Wendy Arp

Wendy Arp, 78, of Bettendorf, passed away, Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm, August 15, 2025 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Her family will greet friends from 11:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus.

Wendy was born on August 26, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of Wendell and Evelyn (Bayless) Dorn. She was united in marriage to Gary Arp on October 14, 1967.

Wendy began her working career at McGladrey and Pullen, retiring in 1999. She enjoyed volunteering her time helping to make quilts for the homeless. She could often be found in the kitchen where she loved to cook her delicious meals. She enjoyed the togetherness of the family around those home cooked meals. She was a generous person and enjoyed caring for others. Wendy took pride in her plants that were on her front porch. She also enjoyed playing her Facebook games and would never miss a bible study Zoom call on Tuesday. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Her fondest memories with the family included their trips to Lake Okoboji and Door County. Above all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and cherished the moments spent with them. She will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband Gary; children Sarah (Emille) Wilcox, Jennifer (Carl) Stocks and Doug (Amanda) Arp; grandchildren Josh Stocks, Evelyn Arp and David Arp; siblings Barb (Dan) Millage, Debbie (Harry) Schmidt and Becky (Dennis) Crisler; and cousin Sally (Dave) Steenhouck.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
