Victoriana Mendoza De Nava, born on April 8, 1945, in La Magdalena de Araceo, Guanajuato, Mexico, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at Mercy One Genesis East Campus, surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church, Davenport. Rosary will be held during the visitation, starting at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass to honor Victoriana will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church, Davenport, with visitation held an hour before mass. Burial will take place following Mass at Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport.
Victoriana was the beloved wife of the late Adolfo Nava. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with love and laughter. She will be remembered fondly for her great love and affection for her children and grandchildren, which was evident in the many meals she prepared to bring her family together. An excellent cook, she had the remarkable ability to make a meal stretch and feed her family, turning simple ingredients into cherished dishes.
A devout Catholic woman, Victoriana was cherished for her joyful personality, kindness, and welcoming spirit. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her life was characterized by her commitment to her faith and community. She was a proud member of St. Mary Church of Davenport before later joining St. Anthony of Davenport. Her devotion was unwavering; she spent countless hours before the Blessed Sacrament every First Friday and on Sundays before noon Mass. This deep spiritual connection reflected her warm, kind-hearted nature.
Victoriana is survived by her loving sons, Angel Nava, Pedro Nava (Estela Hernández), and Adolfo Nava; her beloved daughters, Alicia Nava Vieyra (Cecilio Vieyra), Estela Nava Villafana (José L Villafana), Ma Guadalupe Aguilar (Sebastián Águilar), Verónica Nava (Arnulfo Mendoza), and Victoria Sánchez (Juan J Sanchez); her grandchildren, who she loved very much, Jackeline Mendoza, Lorena Nava, Misael Vieyra, Adelin Villafana, Diego Sánchez, Melina Vieyra, Sebastián Aguilar, Moses Vieyra, Marcos Villafana, Adolfo Nava Jr, Simón Aguilar, Galilea Nava, David Mendoza, Israel Nava, Ivan Villafana, Noé Mendoza, Ángel Adán Nava, Josué Nava, Mateo Nava; several "adopted" grandchildren who she loved just like her own, Sandra Nava, Marcella Nava, and Carlos Nava; her four great-grandchildren, Antonio Vieyra, Amaias Aguilera, Adriel Aguilera, Camila Vieyra; many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Each of them carries forward her legacy of compassion and strength.
Victoriana Mendoza De Nava leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, faith, and family. She was a strong, independent woman who earned the love and respect of many. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her and in the values she imparted to her family. She will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered.
