Vernis A. “Vern” Orsborne, 56, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025, at his home following a battle with cancer. Per his request the rite of cremation has been accorded and no services held. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, assisted the family.
Vernis Anthony Orsborne was born January 5, 1969, in Colorado Springs, CO, to Vernis and Patsy (Greer) Orsborne. He was united in marriage to Patricia “Pattie” McKittrick on March 1, 2015. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2025.
Vern had been a welder for HUSCO International (formerly known as S & H Fabricating) in Maquoketa.
Vern loved the outdoors, whether it was riding motorcycles, watching the eagles, hiking in the woods, or hunting ginseng. He was a “smart ass”, and his sense of humor will be deeply missed.
Those left to honor his memory include his son Jesse (Amy) Orsborne of Bellevue, IA; daughters Amber (Tyler) Church of Davenport, Nikita Orsborne and Nitessa Orsborne of Maquoketa; grandchildren Brooklin, Lyla, Dylan, Kolton; stepson Dana (Sharion) McKittrick of Calhoun, GA; mother Patsy (Dan) Boehm of Roscommon, MI; grandmother Dorothy Greer of Romulus, MI; sisters Theresa Snyder of Louisville, KY, Gwen Klauke of Taylor, MI; brothers Vern (Zoe) Orsborne and James Orsborne of Southgate, MI, and Jeremy Orsborne of Harrisburg, IL.
Additionally, he was preceded in death by his father, and grandfather Cecil Greer.
