Thomas A. Ritter

Thomas A. Ritter, 75 of Davenport, died Monday, June 30, 2025 at Harmony – Davenport. Private funeral service were held with burial in Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Samaritan, Davenport. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Thomas Anthony Ritter was born on November 6, 1949 in Davenport, a son of William “Bill” and Olive (Lydic) Ritter. He served our country in the Marine Corps as a mechanic, serving in Okinawa. Tom was united in marriage to Sharon L. Fonger on August 5, 1972 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

Tom worked for the railroad, retiring in 2006. He was well respected and was a past local chairman of the BLET Division 200.

He was a member of the NRA and enjoying shooting at the gun range. He also enjoyed attending his son’s races on the local tracks.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Sharon, Davenport; sons: Bryan (Connie Bixby) Ritter, Davenport, and Ryan (Maria) Ritter, Colona, Illinois; grandchildren: Haleigh(Andrew), Madisyn, Giavanna, and Dominic; great-grandchild, Jameson; a brother, William Ritter, Bettendorf, and a niece Mary (Chris) Van Dyke.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Teresa Ritter. May they rest in eternal peace.
