Thomas Joesph Reinart, 57, Iowa City, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics. Tom was born October 29, 1966, son of Robert and Balbina “Bobbie” (Rokosz) Reinart. He found his true love, Lori Haggerty, in 2007 and they have spent the last 17 years together.
Tom graduated from high school in 1984 where he was a swimmer at Davenport West. He continued his education at the University of Iowa studying engineering. His favorite hobby was tinkering with things. His tinkering led him to his lifelong career in construction and home improvement work. He enjoyed Hawkeye football and tailgating at Kinnick Stadium. Tom delighted in socializing with family and friends and was always the life of the party. Tom had a heart of gold and was the first one to offer his help to anyone who needed it. He would do anything for his family, friends and many time strangers. He saw the good in people and never had a bad word to say. He found joy in riding his bike, playing golf, watching the Hawkeyes. being outdoors and relaxing on his deck.
He leaves behind his wife, Lori; parents Robert and Bobbie; siblings Rob (Julie) Reinart, Scott (Susan) Reinart, Beth (Tim) Thorne and Cindy Klemme; numerous nieces and nephews; and pets Benny and Kitty.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Eugene and Genevieve Reinart, Thomas and Eufrozyna (Rose) Rokosz and nephew, William Judd Reinart.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Friday, July 12, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
