Theresa Frese

Theresa Frese Spooner, 73, of Harwich, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Keeping with her wishes, cremation rites have taken place and private family services were held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Congregation of the Humility of Mary (CHM), Davenport.

Mary Theresa Frese was born on August 20, 1951 in Davenport, a daughter of Rosemary (McEvoy) and Glenn Frese. She joined the Air Force in the 1970’s, serving four years in several locations, and retired to her home in Cape Cod. She was an avid photographer and captured many beautiful memories over the years. Theresa spent her final years in the Cape Cod area with her significant other, Mike Kiernan.

Theresa is survived by Mike, Harwich, MA; her son, Jeffrey Govin, Rock Hill, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Patrick (Mary) Frese, Moline, and Mark (Sue) Frese, Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Spooner , her daughter-in-law, Candace Govin, her parents, and her sister, Michele Frese Fox.

A special thank you to Mike for taking such good care of Theresa, especially making the commitment to care for her as her health declined quickly over the last few months.
