Obituary

Taryn Kopf, 21, of Davenport, passed away unexpectedly on May 3, 2026, in Davenport. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, assisted the family.

A public celebration of Taryn’s life will be held from 3 until 7 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Boozie’s Bar and Grill, Davenport. She was laid to rest next to her grandmother, Sue Francis, at Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite animal shelter.

Taryn Madison Kopf was born on May 11, 2004, and passed away on May 3, 2026, leaving behind a silence far heavier than words can hold. In her 21 years, Taryn loved fiercely, felt deeply, and lived with a spirit that could never be contained by ordinary expectations. She was the kind of soul people don’t simply forget. She carved herself into the hearts of those around her.

Some people move through life quietly. Taryn arrived like neon in the rain, impossible to ignore, impossible to replace.

She carried herself with fearless individuality, a soul stitched together from music, late-night conversations, raw honesty, and a heart that felt everything at full volume. She lived outside the lines, finding beauty in the strange, the broken, the artistic, and the real. Taryn was the kind of person who made others feel less alone simply by being unapologetically herself.

She loved deeply, laughed loudly, and left fragments of herself everywhere, in memories, in songs, in photographs, in the people she protected and cared for. There was tenderness beneath her sharp edges, and light beneath the storm clouds she sometimes carried. To know her was to experience someone unforgettable.

The world feels quieter without her in it.

Though her time here was painfully short, Taryn’s spirit was never small. She leaves behind a trail of love, grief, beauty, rebellion, and memories that will echo long after goodbye. She will be missed beyond words and remembered beyond time.

“Some girls are made of soft earth and sunlight. Taryn was made of midnight skies, wildfire, and the kind of stars you only see when everything else goes dark.”

Those left to honor her memory include Denise Francis(mother); Mikia Russell (ride or die), her baby girl, “Hank”; father Richard Kopf; bonus dad Jason Russell; sister, Nikki Shute; brothers Brian Kopf and Greg Kopf; grandfather Carl (Stacy) Francis; aunt and uncle Barb and John (Taryn’s “bestie”) Blanchard and their children Melissa and Ryan Blanchard, Eric Francis, Joshua (Kristi) Francis and their daughter Kylah; aunt Michelle; uncle Cody Francis and her BFF Shelby Reynolds.
