Susan May Fox

Susan May Fox, 89, of Davenport, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.  Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, April 10, 2023 at Faith United Church of Christ, Davenport, with visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital or Macular Degeneration Association.

Susan was born on May 12, 1933 in Burlington to Leverette and Edith Gebhardt.

She graduated from Burlington High School in 1951. On September 20, 1959, she was united in marriage to Charles Fox in Burlington. They were blessed with over 63 years of marriage.

Susan was a secretary for various businesses in the area. She enjoyed quilting, reading, and volunteering at Monroe elementary School. Susan was a member of Faith United Church of Christ and it was important that her children and grandchildren attended church with her.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Charles (Cindy) Fox, Robin (Frank) Weiser, Richard (Linda) Fox, and Lori (Terry) Collier; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Orton.
