Susan Calsyn-Polson, 62, of Davenport, died Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Mercy-One Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.
A memorial service to celebrate Sue’s life will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Metropolitan Community Church of the Quad Cities, 2930 W Locust St, Davenport. Keeping with Sue’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Susan M. Calsyn was born on May 15, 1963 in Davenport, a daughter of Morris “Morry” and Frances “Fran” (Lambert) Calsyn. Sue graduated from St. Ambrose University. She was united in marriage to Debra Polson on May 2, 2009; however, they’ve been together since 1987.
She retired from the Mississippi Valley Blood Center where she worked as a lab tech.
Sue enjoyed her home, she had a green thumb and grew flowers all over her yard, and raised chickens in her back yard. Sue also enjoyed fishing at West Lake Park.
Those left to honor her memory are her wife, Debra, Davenport; siblings: Martin (Petra) Calsyn, Barcelona, Spain; Mary (Tim) Gardner-Karcher, Bettendorf; and Christine (Brian) Calsyn, Clayton, MO; nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Jordan) Spahr, Kate Gardner, Matt Karcher, Ryan Karcher, Alyssa Calsyn, Elizabeth Gardner, Zoe Calsyn, Em Calsyn, Meridith Calsyn, Lukas and Stella Calsyn; brother-in-law, Olen (Paula) Polson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David.
