Steven Pierce, age 75, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Born on May 20, 1950, in Davenport, Iowa, Steve was the son of Donald Pierce and Lois Gaghagen. On May 22, 1973, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Linda Kay Whittington, in New London, Missouri. They shared 37 wonderful years together before her passing on June 3, 2010.

Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends. A proud Vietnam veteran, Steve honorably served his country in the United States Army. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, watching movies, and spending time with his lifelong friend of 43 years, Larry Rayls.

He is survived by his children, Christie McClurg of Michigan City, Indiana, and Craig Pierce of Davenport, Iowa; his beloved grandchildren, Alexander (15), Katelyn (12), and Corrine (12); and his siblings, Nancy Mullanack (Donnie), Tami Pierce, and Larry Pierce (Cindy). Sister-in-law Donna (Chuck) Metzger. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his parents, Lois Gaghagen, Donald Pierce, and Donald Gaghagen; his brother, David Pierce; and his sister, Patricia McClendon.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home by 9:30 a.m. for the procession to the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through the family and friends whose lives he touched with warmth, humor, and love.
