Sim Mee Wong

Sim Mee Wong, 91, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 21, 2023.

Sim was born June 5, 1931, in Yangon, Myanmar, a daughter of Pak Hin Wong and Choi Kyi.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Loo Nawn Lee, brothers, Wong Jin Li and Wong Jin Xu.

Sim was a devoted wife, a loving and caring mother and grandmother.  Survivors include sister, Wong Sin Ngor, and brother, Wong Jin Way; Children:  Thwe Josie (Myo) Htoon, Chiak Hong Lee, Thwe Ha Lee, Thwe Kyi Lee, Chiak Htwe (Lynda Chow) Lee, Dolly Lee, Sonny (Sagawar) Lee, Nancy (Tyler) Lee, and James (Edna Mosquera) Lee; Grandchildren:  Thomas Lee, Samantha Lawless, Jasmine Htoon, Victoria Lee, Kyle Sein, Avery Sein, Isla Lee, and Hudson Lee.

Many wonderful memories, joy, and laughter that we shared with Mom will forever be cherished in our heart, especially the funny moments when she would lecture us with her beliefs of Chinese traditions and culture.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2023, at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport, IA 52803.  Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, 1530 E. 39^th Street, Davenport, IA 52807. She will be laid to rest next to her husband.
