Shirley R. Ehlers

Shirley R. Ehlers, age 91, of Davenport, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facilities, Bettendorf. Private services will be held at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo.

   Shirley was born on September 13, 1931 in Davenport to Gustave and Marie (Sandsbery) Goldermann. She was united in marriage to Herb Ehlers who preceded her in death in February, 1991. Shirley enjoyed tending to her yard and flowers, as well as gardening. She also enjoyed feeding the birds, cats, or any other animal. She watched westerns on the GRIT channel, and liked working on crossword puzzles.

   Survivors include her children, Sharon (Wayne) Rehkamp, Steve (Michaela) Ehlers, and Art (Gale) Ehlers; grandchildren, Melissa, Kimberly, Kelly, Robbie, Allondra, and Almandra; many great-grandchildren; brother, Russell Goldermann; and a son-in-law, Bob Garrow.

   In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donny; daughter, Carol; sister, Betty; and a brother, Don.
