Shirley Ann Miller

Shirley Ann Miller, 84, of Davenport, passed away, Friday, June 6, 2025 at her home.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the funeral service begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Scott County Humane Society.

Shirley was born on May 20, 1941 in Davenport, daughter of LaVerne and Marion (Keller) Miller.

Shirley was very involved in the Lulac Club and was recently Woman of the Year. She enjoyed mowing her lawn, bowling and was a member of the 600 Club. Shirley also found joy in calling Bingo for over 50 years starting at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and later at the Lulac Club. She had a soft spot for animals, especially her Gretta. Shirley was affectionately known as “Buggy” by her grandchildren and “Sam” by her friends. Above all she loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, MaryAnn (Howard Williams) Bartz; grandchildren Robert (Jessica) Werthmann, Jr., Anthony (Angie) Werthmann, Adam (Angela) Wriedt, Jon (Kayla) Steiniger, Bryan Bartz, Tanner Werthmann, Spencer (Crystal) Werthmann and Karlton Williams; 16 great grandchildren; niece Kimberly Miller; nephew Paul Miller; and many special friends and bingo buddies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Chris Werthmann and brother LaVerne “Junior” Miller.
