Obituary

Sheri Lee Blessing, 64, of Davenport, based away Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Sheri was born in Davenport on December 4, 1961. She graduated from West High School in 1980 and went on to earn
both a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from St. Ambrose University. While attending college,
she worked as a receptionist for Mercy Hospital’s laboratory. Following graduation, Sheri dedicated 30 years of service to the
U.S. Army’s financial management community as a DoD civilian, followed by nine years as a contractor.

Sheri enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, and dogs. She liked traveling, playing games (especially Euchre) and socializing.
Sheri lived in the family homestead and in her early years, enjoyed helping with the family business, Blessing Gardens. She could
pick out a ripe watermelon better than anyone.

Sheri was the youngest of five daughters. She is survived by her sisters: Shirley (Larry) Brown, Broomfield, CO; Linda (Warren)
Fierce, and Carole (David) Nagel Smith, Davenport, IA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce; father, Harry; mother Arlene;
and aunt, Katherine - who lived with the rest of the Blessings in the family home. Sheri had 8 nieces and nephews, 22 great
nieces and nephews, and 3 great-great nieces and nephews. Sheri had a family of friends, and after her mother’s death, she
was lovingly “adopted” by Mary Klauer and the entire Klauer family - brothers David (Rhonda) Klauer and Donny Klauer; and
sisters Nancy Knight, Laura (Roland) Patton, and Rita (Mark) Wacker. In addition, her “Family of the Heart” was Charlie and Linda
Pierce. Sheri greatly appreciated the support provided by all her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, August 17, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport.
Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00am until the time of the service. Cremation and arrangements are being handled
by Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home.
