Shawn P. Fennelly, 68, of Las Vegas, Nevada died Tuesday, April 7, 2026 .

Services for Shawn will take place at a later date.

Shawn Patrick Fennelly was born on October 23, 1957, in Davenport, a son of Thomas J. and Esther M. (Ortiz) Fennelly. After graduating from West High School, he left for the west coast to pursue a music career as a singer in a rock band. After several years he hung up his mic and moved to Oregon.

Shawn pursued a career in the restaurant business. He was a wine connoisseur and enthusiast with a deep appreciation for pairing and storage. He also was a culinary specialist. His favorite place to be was cooking in the kitchen surrounded by family and friends. It was always a celebration! He is survived by his love and partner of 25 years, Denise Herzberger. Shawn was an avid skier of both water and snow. His favorite trips were with family to the Ozarks and annual fishing trips to the Great Lakes with his dad and family. He made a promise to our father that he would take care of his mom until the very end and he did.

In addition to his partner, Denise Herzberger; Shawn is survived by his sisters: Sandra Inskeep, Alpha, Illinois, and Kim (Bryan) Kauk, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nephews and nieces: Thomas (Ashley) Moyers, Justin (Jenna) Inskeep, Eugene Hoefer, Brock Fennelly, and Feline Fennelly; great-nieces and nephews: Sydney, Kennedy, Boston, Ben, Leiland, and Lyrical, and a large extended Fennelly and Ortiz family.

Shawn was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Donald and Thomas, a brother-in-law, Ronald Inskeep, her parents, and siblings Tony Ortiz and Arlene Witters. May they rest in peace.
