Sharon Louise Koos (née Sergeant), 87, of Davenport, passed away peacefully at her home on April 12, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Born January 22, 1939, to Roger and Gertrude (Wendell) Sergeant, Sharon was a woman of remarkable spirit and wit. On August 17, 1957, she married Peter F. Koos in Moline, Illinois. Throughout their long and devoted marriage, she was a cornerstone of their family, blessing him with their son, Doug.
Sharon dedicated over 30 years to a career in sales and advertising at Eagle Foods Center, retiring in 2006. While she wasn't naturally outgoing, she was incredibly approachable; she had a gift for striking up a conversation with anyone nearby, often turning a simple appointment into a moment of connection and laughter. Known for her "tough lady" exterior and a legendary sense of humor, Sharon’s quick-witted comebacks could lighten any room.
Her talents were as diverse as her personality. She was a master of cross-stitch and needlework, a skilled seamstress, an avid gardener, and a fantastic baker and cook. When she wasn't in her kitchen or garden, she might be found enjoying a scoop of ice cream or showing off her impressive swing on the golf course.
Sharon is survived by her son, Doug (Julie) Koos; her grandchildren, Hilary Koos, Jordan (Sophia) Koos, Kaylee Bargmann, and Quentin Bargmann; her brother, Jeff (Susie) Sergeant; and many who will miss her sharp mind and warm heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Gertrude, and her brother, Jerry Sergeant.
The family extends a special thanks to her caregiver, Sean Allen, for his dedicated support, and to Hilary, whose devotion kept Sharon active and engaged until the very end.
