Sandy Peisch

Sandra J. Peisch, 77, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. 

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be 3 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Sandra Jean Wendell was born on January 4, 1945 in Moline, Illinois, a daughter of William L. and Bernice E. (McBride) Wendell.  She was united in marriage to James D. Pesich on June 5, 1965 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2015 after 40 years of marriage.

Sandy worked at West Office Equipment for 22 years before working in food service at North High School.  She retired in 2020 following 21 years of service.   She truly loved the kids at North and would often give them a little extra food!

Sandy had a big heart, always putting others first, especially her family.  She would never miss an activity or event that her kids or grandchildren were involved in. She and Jim welcomed everyone in their home, even caring for a few of her kid’s friends when they were on hard times.

Those left to honor Sandy’s memory are her children: Dan “DJ” Peisch, San Diego, California, and Tiffany Peiffer, Davenport; grandchildren: Ashley (Josh) Bitner, Tyler, Colton (Susi), and Spencer Sweatt, Jacob, Brandon, Carter, and Addysen Peiffer; great-grandchildren: Noah, Wesley, Aspen, Logan, Milo, and Sven Bitner; and a brother, Larry (Cathy) Wendell, Davenport.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheri Sweatt, and her parents.  May they rest in peace.
