Sandra "Sandy" Lopez

Funeral services celebrating the life of Sandra “Sandy” Lopez, 77, of Davenport, will be held at 12:00pm, Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Burial will follow in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the family.

Ms. Lopez passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at her home.

Sandra Kay Ruge was born August 13, 1946, in Davenport, a daughter of Roy William and Alberta Leah (Jacobs) Ruge. She was united in marriage to Daniel Paul Lopez Sr in Davenport, and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1994.

Prior to her retirement she had worked for Rudy’s Tacos.

She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards, and watching movies, especially westerns.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters Lucinda (Jerry) Lewis and Tricia Letts of Davenport; son Daniel (Leakhena) Lopez Jr of Baskerville, VA; grandchildren Jerry Lewis Jr, Jamil Lopez, Josmar Lewis, Jaheim Lewis, Teauna Lewis, Vanessa Letts, Matthew Letts, Stephanie Letts, Tiesha Clay, Daniel Lopez III, Golden Thompson, Deandre Lopez, James Christian, Ronald Chhim, Antoinette Cates; 35 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother Mike (Luann) Carney of Davenport, sisters Patricia (Richard) White of Apopka, FL, Nancy (Elmer) Justus of Davenport, Marcia Lorenz of Davenport, and Bill Ruge of Denver, CO.

 In addition to her husband Daniel, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister Darlene Gifford, and brothers Wayne Ruge.
