Sandra Hute-Murphy

A Memorial Service for Sandra K. (Wright) Hute -Murphy, 73, a resident of Lost Nation, formerly of Davenport will be 5p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport.  The family will greet friends Tuesday from 3p.m. until the time of the service. Sandy passed away peacefully Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport surrounded by her family.   Memorials may be made to the family.

Sandra Kay Wright was born on November 8, 1944 in Davenport, a daughter of Silas and Ruth (Cone) Wright.  She was united in marriage to Dale Hute and later was united in marriage to Thomas Murphy in Tennessee who preceded her in death.

Sandy operated a daycare in her home for many years.

Sandy was very talented in crafts, especially loving to paint.  She loved Santa, Snowman, and Teddy Bears.  She also enjoyed knitting, dice games, candy crush, and watching Lifetime/Hallmark and Game Shows. Sandy especially enjoyed her family, cherishing her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Pam (Brian) Fisher, Lost Nation, Iowa and Dennis (Cathy) Hute, Toronto, Iowa; grandchildren: Megan, Shannon (Zane), Melanie (Domi), Ruger, Seth (Kim), Ian (Emily); great – grandchildren: Brynnlee and Harper; her mother, Ruth Wright, Bettendorf; siblings: Silas “Lynn” (Judy) Wright and Pam (Dave) Lambert, and her best friend: Cathy Sapp.

In addition to her husband, Tom, she was preceded in death by a daughter Kimberly Hute, and her father.

The family would like to thank Judy Bateman and everyone at Select Specialty for the wonderful care they shared with Sandy.
