The family will also greet friends and family from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. Buril will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.

Ruth Eleanor Lamp was born on September 9, 1937 in Davenport, the daughter of Leonard Lloyd Lamp and Eleanor Bernice (Quinn) Lamp. She graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy in 1955.

She was united in marriage to Sherman Edward Weber on October 5, 1963 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. They were blessed with more than 52 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2016.

Ruth was employed at Seaboard Finance Company in the Kahl Building for 10 years. She was also self employed when she ran a loving daycare out of her home for many years. She then worked for 4 years at the Growing Tree Preschool, Davenport.

Sherm and Ruth were charter members of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. She sang in the funeral choir at the church for many years. She wrote many letters over the years against the evils of abortion to newspapers and politicians.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Rana Marie Weber and Jennifer Marie Erich and son-in-law Andy Erich; three grandchildren Rachel (Trent) Larson, Luke Karauskas and Miranda Erich; two great grandsons Damon Larson and Tristen Larson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sherm, sister Estella d’Autremont in May 2019, and a niece Ruth Ann Standish in July 2021. May they rest in peace.

The family is comforted by the knowledge that Sherm and Ruth are united in Heaven and that Sherm has many new jokes to share with her. In fact, he wanted Ruth’s obituary to say that she died in a freak sky-diving accident in Spain. We would like to thank the staff at Comfort Keepers and Clarissa C. Cook for ensuring that her final days were more comfortable than any tragic events in Spain would have been.
