Ruth Walljasper

RuthAnn Walljasper, 74, of Davenport, passed away, Saturday, June 7, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Friday, June 13, 2025 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Burial with her husband Terry will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Ruth was born on July 15, 1950 in Davenport, Iowa, daughter of John and Grace (Swope) Lange. She was united in marriage to Terrance “Terry” Walljasper on May 5, 1972 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2021.

Ruth enjoyed being surrounded by people and entertaining at her many parties. She was creative and found joy in ceramics, cake decorating, flower arranging and writing poetry. In her younger years she could be found at the ballfield watching baseball with the family. She was also a great dancer. Ruth was a very strong woman and was always the first to help those that were struggling. Above all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and cherished the time spent with them. She will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her children; Tom (Shelley) Walljasper, Teresa (Roger) Youngblut and Chris (Lisa) Walljasper; grandchildren Bristy, Myka, Krianna, Nick, Luke, Katie, Hannah, Zach and Kyle; great grandchildren Ginny, Hank, Sawyer, Kaden, Johnny and Alex; and siblings Penny Rogers and Pam Bell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Terry, brothers Bob Lange and Jim Swope and Aunt Ginny.
