Ruth “Jean” Hartman, 84, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on at 3:00pm, Friday, May 24, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 1:30pm until the time of service at the church. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Davenport Fire Department, Davenport Police Department, and the Top Gun Chiefs. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jean was born on December 13, 1939 in Davenport, daughter of Dewey and Ruth (Owen) Simmons. She was united in marriage to Lawrence “Larry” Hartman on December 12, 1959. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2022.
Jean loved to travel with her husband and together they had visited 49 states. She was a member of Davenport Police Department V.I.P.s, Scott County V.I.P.s, EMA volunteer and a Girl Scout Leader. Above all she loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Paul (Lizanne) Hartman and Lara (Steven) Blaser; grandchildren Kathryn, Andrea, and Lawrence Blaser; brother Jan Simmons; brother-in-law William Jasper; and a very special friend Dori.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry and sister Carol.
