Ruth Loretta Goin

Ruth Loretta (Gimm) Goin, 86, a resident of Blue Grass, died Saturday, December 31, 2022 at UnityPoint Trinity Muscatine.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2023 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Burial will be at Inland Cemetery in Bennett, Iowa. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Ruth was born June 6, 1936 in LeClaire, Iowa the daughter of George and Ruth (Roller) Gimm. She married James Rossmiller, and from this union came six of her children. Ruth married Joseph Goin, June 12, 1981 in Davenport.

Ruth enjoyed reading, traveling to Texas, baking, her flower gardens, and fishing at her condo in Wisconsin.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Joe; children, Judy (Bill Hitchcock) Carstens of Davenport, Janet Rossmiller-Dolan of Louisiana, Missouri, Terry (Mary Kay) Rossmiller of Blue Grass, Lisa Tutton of Manchester, Iowa, Scott Rossmiller of Minnesota, Wendy (Jason) Shipley of Blue Grass and Brandi (Chris) Repass of Bloomfield, Wisconsin; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Pat (Dawn) Gimm of LeClaire and Tom (Renate) Gimm of East St. Louis, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Elizabeth “Becky” Dolan; and siblings, James Gimm, Jr., Nancy Golden, Bob Gimm, Mike Gimm, and Bill Gimm.
