Ronnie G. Dietsch

Ronnie Dietsch, 66, of Davenport, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Cremation will be accorded and celebration of his life will be held from 2-4 pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the QC Animal Welfare Center or the Scott County Humane Society.

Ronnie Gene Dietsch was born October 20, 1959, in Rock Island, to Duane and Viola (Hass) Dietsch. He was united in marriage to Beth Fuller in 1986. In August of 2005 he met Mary Lou (Grell) Johnston at the Mississippi Valley Fair, and they were married on July 3, 2012.

Prior to his retirement in November of 2024, he worked for Shields Sewing Center in Davenport, for over 40 years.

His “Holy Trinity” of teams were the Hawkeyes, Bears, and Cubs. He also loved to fish and play golf.

Survivors include his wife Mary Lou; daughters Alison (Karin) Hotchkiss-Dietsch of Iowa City and Julie (Jared) Rothlauf of San Antonio; grandchildren Paxton, Benton, Rylen, and Maeve; sisters Rita Plank of Arizona, Linda (Keith) Shaw of Rock Island, and Karen Schafman of San Antonio; brothers Dale (Brenda) Dietsch of Ft. Madison, IA, Gary Dietsch of New Boston, IA, and Gary (Betty) Van De Kerckhove of Springfield, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Vicky Jones and Barbie Dietsch, brother Rodney Dietsch, and brother-in-law Jim Plank.
