Ronald E. Williams

Ronald Edward Williams, 83, of Davenport, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis, Davenport.

A memorial service to celebrate Ron will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

Ronald was born on June 18, 1942, in Moline, IL. He was the son of Louis and Lucille (Fitzpatrick) Williams. He was united in marriage to Linda Kay Gaskey on November 14, 1998. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2024.

He had worked various jobs but loved driving a truck for Wonderbread the most, which he did for approximately 15 years, from which he retired. Ron had a deep passion for repairing cars and trucks. He never passed up a good thrift and always stopped at garage sales he came across. You could always find him tinkering in his garage with his vehicles. He was especially fond of collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. He also treasured his juke box find.

Those left to honor his memory include his children: Ronda (Gary) Morrison, Ed (Joy) Williams, and Lynett (Lonnie) Robertson; stepsons, Alvin (Melissa) Sersig III, Rodney (Kathy Monteith) McReynolds Sr., and Scott (Stephanie) Angstrom; and numerous loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to thank a special friend, Karen Traywick, for the outstanding care, love, and attention that she gave to Ron.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers, Don Williams and Herb Williams.
