Ronald Snider

Ronald H. Snider, 84, of Davenport, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. The family will greet friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park with a luncheon following. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Ron was born on December 31, 1939, in Davenport, to William and Myrtle (Heeney) Snider. He graduated from Davenport High School and was a veteran having served with the U.S. Army. On February 17, 1968, Ron was united in marriage to Rosanne Kramer in Phoenix, AZ. Ron owned and operated Snider’s Service Center in Davenport for many years with his son, Darren, alongside. More recently, him and Darren operated Snider’s Storage. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, watching sports, tinkering in the garage and hanging out with his canine companion, Rusty. Additionally, for many years (decades even), each Wednesday he spent time with his buddies aptly named “The Knights of the Round Table”, which included his twin brother, Don Snider.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Rosanne; children, Darren Snider, Lisa Snider, and David Snider (Jeanie); grandchildren, Trevor Snider, Alexia Snider, and Emily Snider;  brother, Everett Snider and his wife Joan, and his sister-in-laws, Orlene Snider and Rita Snider.

Survivors of “The Knights of Round Table” include John Kealey and John Melroy.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald Snider; his older brother, William Snider; and his sister, Mary Lou Coughlin and her husband Bill.
