Ronald H. Anderson, 83, of Davenport passed away Friday, November 21, 2025 with his wife, Janie by his side. He was born on January 9, 1942 in Davenport to Frank and Hazel (Huffman) Anderson. Ron and Janie (Cheek) married on September 1, 1962. He worked as a plant engineering technician at Caterpillar retiring in 1992 after 26 years.
He loved the many road trips to spend time with his family. He especially loved time with his seven grandchildren and great grand daughter and was very proud of them. His legacy of hard work, helping others, quick wit and meticulous car washing will live on in them. Everyone knew Ron as someone who would be there to do anything for them. He enjoyed restoring old cars and drag racing motorcycles. He was a member of Good Guys Rod and Custom Association and enjoyed hot rodding with his friends.
Ron is survived by his wife Janie; his three daughters Katherine (Bob) Leverence of San Antonio, Suzan (Mark) Horn of Lake Stevens, WA, Teri (Tom) Kruse of Fox Island, WA; grandchildren Josh (Jess) Kruse, Bobby Leverence, Luke Kruse, Jennifer (Barnes) Lerebours, Elias (Abs) Hubble-Horn, Jonathan Kruse and Emma (Corban) Phillips; his great grand daughter Lorelei Kruse; his brother Gene Anderson; sisters-in-law Janet (Jerry) Teel, Sheryl Wulf, Carol (Mike) Miller and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters and brothers-in-law Donna and John Carter, Pat and Bob Hawk, sisters-in-law Pat Anderson and Cleo Anderson, brothers-in-law Roger Van Blaricom, Basil Cheek, and Bill Wulf; niece Lisa Anderson, nephews Randy Anderson, Scott Heber, and Butch Anderson.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, December 5, 2025 followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am at Davenport First Church of the Nazarene, 1010 N. Clark St. A luncheon will follow at the church.
