Roberta L Adams

Roberta Lee Adams, 98, a resident of Davenport, passed away Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Roberta was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on September 27, 1927. She was united in marriage to Arthur A. Adams, Jr. on March 4, 1950, in Omaha, Nebraska. Together they shared 67 years of marriage, building a life centered on family, love, and devotion.

Roberta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to sing, play the piano, and entertain, and was often heard humming or singing. She enjoyed playing bridge, hearts, and other card games, and remained socially active throughout her life. Roberta was active in the Cosmopolitan Club, Newcomers, and Toastmasters International. She was an avid golfer with her husband, a member of various golf clubs, and participated in couples bowling leagues. She also found great joy in becoming a Master Gardener. Roberta was a deeply spiritual woman and was a faithful member of a Romans Bible Study group for more than 30 years. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, which brought her the greatest joy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur A. Adams, Jr., and her son, Arthur A. Adams III.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Steven D. (Luann) Adams of Summerville, South Carolina; Peter B. Adams of Davenport, Iowa; and Stuart D. (Gregory B. Sams) Adams of Naperville, Illinois; as well as her daughter-in-law, Karen Adams of Bettendorf, Iowa. Grandchildren include: Shannon (Mike) Harper of Knightdale, North Carolina; Heather (Justin) Lillibridge of Bettendorf, Iowa; Steve (Adriana) Adams Jr. of Greensboro, North Carolina; Adrienne (Aaron) Farrant of Sykesville, Maryland; Arthur A. (Emily) Adams of Cedar Park, Texas; and Nicole and Alexandria Adams of St. Louis, Missouri. Great-grandchildren include: Rachael, Emma, Lyric, Nola, Mina, Cade, Gwendolynn, Genevieve, Emberlyn, Rose, and Opal.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport, Iowa. Burial services will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery on Friday, January 9, 2026. Family and friends are asked to meet at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. to process to the cemetery. A repast will follow the burial service.
