Robert Earl Dempsey Jr.

Robert Earl Dempsey, Jr., 66 of Davenport, died Monday, May 12, 2025. Keeping with his wishes, cremation rites will take place and there will be no formal services at this time. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries is assisting the family with arrangements.

Robert (Bob) was born on November 14, 1958, in Davenport, Iowa, a son of Jean Darlene (Pauly) Dempsey. Bob attended West High School and Scott Community College, where he received his commercial driving license.

After high school, Bob worked for Hawkeye Flooring and after perfecting his skill of trade in terrazzo flooring, and related type flooring, Bob started his own business, Dempsey Tile Techniques. Bob also worked many years for CSI Construction, Ruan Logistics, and in his free time, he loved volunteering at Skellington Manor.

His best friend and life-time partner, Kimberley Nissen, proudly supported him through his career and blessed him with their daughter, Sarah. Bob was a kind and loving man known for his generous heart and strong work ethic and was ready to lend a hand for anyone in need. Bob was also known for his love of his Harley-Davidson and made friends wherever he went. Above all, Bob loved his family. Of all his accomplishments, Bob was most proud of being a father and "Peepaw" and deeply cherished his daughter and grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory is his beloved daughter, Sarah (Tyler Mohr) Dempsey; Terra (Greg) Ray (daughter of Kim); his grandsons, Tyler Ray, Bryce Ray, and Kyler Dempsey; his granddaughter, Sandra Dempsey; his sisters, Barbara (Alan) Efflandt and Patty (Steve) Butterfield; brother, Arthur Dempsey; his many nieces and nephews; his close friend, Gary Paulsen; and his loving canine companion, Gus.

Bob was preceded in death by his life-time partner, Kimberley, and his mother, Jean Dempsey.
