Robert "Bob" Zirkel

Robert “Bob” Zirkel, 83, of Walcott, passed away, Saturday, November 29, 2025 at his home.

Inurnment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, followed by a luncheon from 12-2 p.m. at the Walcott American Legion. Memorials may be made to the family.

Robert was born on January 23, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa, son of George and Gertrude (Schwab) Zirkel.

Bob graduated from Assumption High School in 1960 and later went to work for Eagles. He was employed with them for over 35 years prior to his retirement. After his retirement he was known as “Lawnmower Bob” and became the guy to go to when you needed your lawnmower fixed. He was a member of the Aristocrat Car Club and was a proud owner of a snub nosed Dodge. Bob also enjoyed to shoot pool and play cribbage. During the summer he could be found in his vegetable garden. He was very fond of his Collins Street Fruitcake and Fannie Mae Chocolates. His grandsons will remember him for their McDonald’s dates and the movies they watched together.

Those left to honor his memory include his sons Jason (Bekka) Zirkel and Brian (Steph) Zirkel; grandsons Tait and Kinnick; and many cousins and friends.
