Richee Max Atkinson Sr, 41, of Maquoketa, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at his home. Per his wish he was an organ donor, and the rite of cremation has been accorded. A celebration of his life will be held from 3-6pm on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the Buffalo Community Center, 426 Clark St, Buffalo, IA.
Richee was born January 17, 1982, in Davenport, a son of Russell and Rhonda (Sumpter) Atkinson. He met his future wife, Alicia Akright, in grade school and they reconnected later in life, uniting in marriage on July 14, 2001, in Davenport. They were blessed with their children Richee Jr and Autumn.
He was self employed as a concrete laborer.
He loved playing disc golf and was a huge Detroit Lions fan. He killed at woodworking and built many items that will be treasured keepsakes. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Alicia; son Richee Max Atkinson Jr of Davenport; daughter Autumn (Silver Losh) Atkinson of Cedar Rapids; stepson Tyler (Maleah Wilson) Akright of Davenport; grandchildren Marco and Neveah Akright; parents Rhonda (Todd) Schnoor-Scheidel of Clermont, IA; father Russell Atkinson of Davenport; and brother Ryan Atkinson of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his sister Ronda Jo Atkinson, grandson Antonio Akright, grandparents, cousin Bubba Brummett, and brother in law Todd Crane.
