LeClaire

Richard “Rick” Lemke, II, 63, of LeClaire, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, surrounded by his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. A luncheon will be held at the church following the service, and all are welcome to attend.

Visitation will also take place from 4:00–7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport, where a Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m., followed by a time for sharing memories.

In keeping with Rick’s easygoing spirit, the family invites those attending the Wednesday visitation to dress casually or wear Green Bay Packers, Iowa Hawkeyes, or Harley-Davidson apparel. Memorials may be made to SEAL Family Legacy or Folds of Honor.

Rick was born on January 16, 1962, in Gunnison, CO, the son of Richard and Darla (Smith) Lemke. He married Renee Mosley on October 8, 1994, and together they built a life filled with love and family.

Rick enjoyed riding his motorcycle and bicycle, working on cars, and attending car shows. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers and Iowa Hawkeyes fan, and a proud supporter of the military, volunteering his time to place flags for unknown soldiers. Known for his generosity, he was always willing to lend a hand and would truly give the shirt off his back if someone needed it.

More than anything, Rick loved being with his family. In retirement, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, making memories they will always carry with them. In his final act of giving, Rick donated both of his kidneys, continuing to help others even after his passing.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 31 years, Renee; children Justin (Melanie) Lemke, Jeremy (Miriam) Lemke, and Jordan Lemke; grandchildren Maddison, Morgan, Matthew, and Bella; mother Darla Lemke; sister Cindy (Scott) Stear; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lemke.

Rick will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and devotion to family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
