Richard Glowacki

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dr. Richard M. “Dick” Glowacki, 84, of Davenport, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Davenport. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, assisted with arrangements. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. His family will greet friends at church prior to mass from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Dick died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Unity Point Trinity Medical Center, Bettendorf.

Richard Michael Glowacki was born February 21, 1933 in LaSalle, IL, a son of Vincent and Marie (Schier) Glowacki. He graduated from St. Ambrose College and earned his DDS at the University of Iowa. Dick served his country in the US Army. He was united in marriage to Phyllis A. “Penny” O’Brien on October 5, 1957 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Davenport. Penny preceded him in death January 20, 2015.

Dick enjoyed daily mass, woodworking, gardening, pickleball, breakfasts with his family and friends; but most of all watching his grandchildren grow up.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Care and Share or Fr. Conroy’s Vineyard of Hope.

Survivors include his children, Amy (Peter) Fennelly, Kalispell, MT, Lynn (Robert) Bisantz, Apex, NC, Liz (Tom) Frandsen, Davenport, Greg Glowacki, Dubuque, Tim Glowacki, Pleasant Valley, and Kevin Glowacki, Davenport; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Dolores Warlop, Moline, IL, Jerry (Lorreta) Glowacki, Bettendorf, Bill (Sharon) Glowacki, and Don (Sandy) Glowacki, all of Davenport; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean (Larry) Stolmeier, Perkasie, PA; Sheila (Bruce) Lingle, Shippensburg, PA; Sue O’Brien, Tim O’Brien, Patty O’Brien, and William Grogan all of Davenport; and numerous extended family.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Penny, daughter, Anne Iossi, son-in-law, Jeff Iossi, and brothers, George and Gene.
