Reva O. Rangel

Reva O. Rangel, 89, of Davenport, died Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at her home surrounded her family.

Funeral services to celebrate Reva’s life will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  The family will greet friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, East Moline.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Reva O. Leasman was born on January 22, 1934 in a boxcar on Pansy Avenue in Davenport, the feistiest daughter of Edward and Laura (Hoke) Leasman.  She was married to Bobbie Max Hoing.  He preceded her in death on December 30, 1984.  She later married Anselm Rangel on April 21, 1990 in Urbana, Ohio.  He preceded her in death on August 2, 2005.

Reva worked many years for a window manufacturing company in Rock Island. 

Reva was a loving mother.  She loved to dance and was a musical genius with the ability to play every musical instrument she tried, and mastered the organ.

Survivors include her daughters: Taffy Gilman and Laura (Mike) Kinney, both of Davenport; grandchildren: Adrianna (Kerry Cortes), Nathan Savage, and Sam (Mia Johnson) Gilman; great-grandchildren: Isabella, Kiran, Sawyer, Desmond, Camden; brothers: Robert (Shirley) Leasman, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Gale “Sonny” Leasman, Galva, Illinois and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce, grandson, Bryan Cook, and sister-in-law, Sharon Leasman, parents and siblings: Edward, Gloria, LaJina “Nina”, Gloral, and Loreada “Pete”.
