Raymon Mueller, 80, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Harmony Utica Ridge, Davenport. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will be from noon until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Kings Harvest Pet Rescue or Boys Town.
Raymon Frederic Mueller was born March 7, 1946, in East Moline, to Albert and Vernola (Carlson) Mueller. He graduated from UTHS in East Moline and attended Central College, Pella, IA. He was united in marriage to Claudia Conard on September 21, 1968, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport.
Ray worked for the former Rock Island Line for 15 years and then for the Davenport Community School District for 29 years until his health forced him to retire. He also worked part time for Glynns Creek Golf Course.
Ray loved watching and playing sports. His favorite teams were the Iowa Hawkeyes, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and the Chicago Cubs.
He was a member of St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia; daughter Melinda Ann of Ankeny; grandsons Matthew Hamma of Chicago and Carter Rands of Austin, TX; brother Jim (Dot) Mueller of Port Byron; brothers-in-law Edward “Skip” Conard of Davenport, Dale Conard of DeWitt, and Denny (Vicki) Conard of Bettendorf; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs Matilda Lou and Lola Mae.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Melissa “Missy” Mueller, parents, brother Garold Mueller, sister-in law and brother-in-law Coral and Dale Degen.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge Dr. Steven Strom, nurses and staff at MercyOne Genesis and University of Iowa Hospital, and St. Croix Hospice for the kindness shown to Ray and his family.
